Our first product, LullaFeed™, is a music-based feeding device integrated with a baby’s bottle that allows parents and feeding specialists to support their child through the feeding progression, which is a problem for up to 60% of infants - an estimated 74 million/year. Michael Detmer, MME, MT-BC (NICU-MT)
Chief Executive Officer | Co-Founder

Michael is a board-certified music therapist with his NICU music therapy designation and holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in music therapy from The University of Kansas. Michael is an active music therapy researcher with a special focus on feeding, sensory integration, and neurodevelopment of infants.  He has served as the principal investigator on multiple clinical research studies, four of which are related to long-term growth in premature infants and contingent music to improve behavior states in term infants. His clinical work has focused on contingent music to enhance non-nutritive sucking for improvement of feeding skills in infants admitted to the NICU. He has also worked with parents and caregivers to provide education on sensory integration, neurodevelopment, and the use of contingent music to shape behavior in infants. Michael has presented nationally and internationally to music therapy and medical audiences and has been invited to submit original research papers and book chapters to evidence-based music therapy literature. He has published music therapy research and literature on the early childhood population in nursing and music therapy journals. In addition to his past as a college-level music therapy professor, he has taught as a fellow for the National Institute for Infant & Child Medical Music Therapy through Florida State University, which is the credentialing body for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapists. 

Rebekah Gossom, MS, CCC, SLP
Chief Clinical Officer | Co-Founder

Rebekah is a speech-language pathologist specializing in pediatric feeding at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital. Rebekah received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders for Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisville. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association (KSHA). She is also a member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT) and the National Association of Neonatal Nursing (NANN). She co-chairs the Developmental Care Committee for the NICU at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital and has practiced in the area of developmental feeding, swallowing diagnostics, and developmental intervention in the NICU since 2002. Rebekah has over 20 years’ experience working with infants in an inpatient, NICU, and outpatient setting with a primary focus on feeding and swallowing. She also performs in-depth testing via modified barium swallow studies in conjunction with a radiologist under fluoroscopy to fully evaluate the anatomy and physiology of the oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal phases of swallowing. Rebekah routinely provides parent education classes on feeding and speech and language. Rebekah has a keen interest in family centered care to enhance developmental feeding outcomes for infants.
